Welcome to the Bonham ISD Bond Election Website!

On August 25, the Bonham ISD Board of Trustees called a $27,100,000 bond election for November 8, 2011. A citizens committee consisting of parents, local citizens, business leaders, school staff and the school board developed the contents of the school bond package.

The proposed bond will address aging and inadequate facilities at Bonham High School and I.W. Evans Intermediate including:

  • Campus overcrowding, undersized classrooms (based on state standards), traffic congestion and mechanical, electrical, plumbing, handicap accessibility, roof and building code deficiencies at Evans Intermediate School
  • Structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, handicap accessibility and building code deficiencies at Bonham High School
  • Undersized space for fine arts, co-curricular and extra-curricular programs at Bonham High School
  • An addition of an Agriculture Project Center to Bonham High School

This website has been created to inform the Bonham ISD community about what is proposed in the bond election. On this website, you will find proposed project information, tax rate information, voting information, a list of frequently asked questions and a place to submit your bond-related question to the district. Several bond presentations will be scheduled throughout the community and the dates will be posted on this website.

The last day to register to vote in this election is October 11. If you are not registered to vote, we encourage you to do so. Early Voting begins October 24 and lasts until November 4. Election Day is Tuesday, November 8.
Please don't hesitate to call or stop by my office if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Sonny Cruse,
Superintendent
